Job Summary:
The Category Analyst will play a critical role in supporting this client’s IT transformation strategy by focusing on the management, renewal, and optimization of software (SW), hardware (HW), and hosted SaaS contracts. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective cost management, process maturity, and alignment with the organization's technology goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Focus:
- Serve as a Category Strategist, driving reporting, analysis, and research to support negotiations and strategic activities.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Business teams to optimize SW and HW spending on an annual basis.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and favorable contract terms.
Contract and Renewal Management:
- Plan and execute renewals for 450+ SW and HW support contracts, ensuring:
- Adequate timelines (12 to 18 months in advance).
- Optimized cost achievement and favorable terms.
- Right-sized renewal terms (true-up/true-down).
- Act as the Primary Liaison for SW and HW contract renewal management with the COE India team.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Develop relationships with other sourcing teams to support non-technology SW and SaaS needs.
- Collaborate with IT and internal teams on roadmap planning for net-new and renewal purchases.
- Liaise with non-IT category team members to ensure alignment with on-premise and hosted solutions.
Process and Reporting:
- Create and manage processes to support SW/HW acquisition contracting and continuous improvement.
- Review and maintain contract taxonomy within specified systems.
- Provide regular status presentations and research insights to senior leadership.
Primary Duties:
Promote:
- Foster strong partnerships with internal business partners to ensure alignment on SW and HW support needs.
Manage and Implement:
- Oversee reporting for SW and HW renewal planning and execution, serving as the designated interface with COE India.
Support:
- Assist in improving contracting and renewal processes for SW and HW, focusing on future development.
Assist in Development:
- Contribute to the creation of strategies for future software and hardware contracting processes.
Review and Maintain:
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of taxonomy for contracts and terms.
Drive Value:
- Plan and implement strategies to secure renewals at or below budget.
Liaise:
- Collaborate with external and internal teams to maintain a comprehensive view of technologies deployed both on-premises and in hosted solutions.
Act as SME:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all contracting templates and contract storage requirements, working closely with the India COE team.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in software and hardware contract management.
- Proven experience in tracking and reporting renewals, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization.
- Familiarity with IT transformation processes and hosted SaaS solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior leadership reporting.
